Words Of The Week ...

We are learning high frequency words in E7.  These are words that we use and see most often in our writing and reading.  To help us, each week we focus on learning a two or three words at a time. We learn to spell them, read them, write them and say them. We sing songs about these words to help us learn and remember them, we read books that have lots of these words in them, and incorporate them into our writing.  So far we've learnt: I, am, atthe (great start for a story), mand a. This week we're learning all about look.

We've also been learning on.  In PMP we've been learning all about words like on, off, up, down, in, out, through and between, so we're having lots of opportunities to talk about on.   Yesterday we wrote stories about PMP that started, "I am on the..."  Today our writing session was all about practising writing words we know.  Mrs Pescini gave us a word and put it into a sentence.  Then we tried to write it down.  We came to the mat and reflected on our own work together, ticking the words that we had spelled correctly.  Look how well we did...
